Vainglory Replay Guide

The replay feature allows you to rewatch the match you just played with free camera and slow motion. The replay button is found on the end-game scoreboard. It was introduced back in November 2016 with the 1.24 patch.

Although you can record the replay footage, it is slow and the video file can be large. A better way is to save the replay which is only a few megabytes and contains all the data of your gameplay. With replay, you can see the game from the perspective of any player in a match.

How to save a replay

We will use vaingloryreplay, a Windows software made by PopcornOne to save the replay. There are README files that explain how to use the software including saving, watching, and even streaming a game from the replay feature as you play.

We will guide you through the steps to save a replay on Android and PC in the following sections. These instructions were from Everlasting Night. The replay files have names that look like this:

dddbf79c-0f0b-11e6-940f-06c5ee41a4a5-41c6404f-bb7e-40c0-b790-f9cb6048f14d.15.vgr

Android

  1. Start a match and finish it.
  2. When you are at the match result screen, open your file manager app and go to /Android/data/com.superevilmegacorp.game/cache.
    • Note: If you are on Android 11, you may need to connect your device to your PC to access the folder since apps are not allowed to show content in the /Android/data folder.
  3. Copy the replay files in the cache folder to a different location.
    • Note: The files in cache will be deleted once you play another match or exit replay.

Windows (PC)

  1. Start a match and finish it.
  2. When you are at the match result screen, open File Explorer and go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp.
    • Note: AppData is a hidden folder. Enable hidden items in the View” menu if you can’t find it.
  3. Copy the replay files with names ending in .vgr to a different location.
    • Note: The files in AppData will be deleted once you play another match or exit replay.

How to share a replay

Just package the replay files in a .zip or .7z archive and send it to anyone you want. We welcome sharing them in the Gallery channel on our Discord. Remember to include a screenshot of your match result showing the builds to give some context.
